Video Tutorial

Hi Everyone,

I hope you had a lovely weekend!

I thought for a bit of a change today, I'd have a look in the archives to find one of our video tutorials that our designer, Penni, made showing you how to mask an image to create a background.

The Wild Rose Studio stamp that Penni used is called Bella with Sledge.

If you follow the link, you can see the project that Penni made using this stamp.

Enjoy.

Hugs,

Bella with Sledge

Hi all,
I hope you are enjoying the fabulous weather we are having here in the UK! I have to admit I’ve been feeling a bit like a piece of limp lettuce the last few days, with the temperatures soaring so high…so it has been a winter wonderland retreat to be sitting colouring and embellishing Christmas images, dreaming of snow…well, that’s my excuse for lavishing this card in glamour dust and snowflakes!

For this card, I’ve used the cute Wild Rose Studio ‘Bella with Sledge’ image…of all of the images that I ink up (and that’s a fair few!), I can always guarantee a good crisp image with the Wild Rose Studio stamps, they are such good quality and once I’ve done an initial test on scrap paper to make sure that I’ve lined up the stamp properly, there is never any need for a second attempt because the results are always brilliant first time!

Here’s a close up of the image coloured with copics:

The papers are from Nitwits…such great quality papers and excellently priced in our summer sale…so go grab yourself a bargain!  Other products used on this card that are also in the sale include the Spellbinders 'Snowflake Pendant' and the Whimsy ‘Christmas Sayings’ stamp…such a lovely range of differently sized sentiments in this stamp set!

Hope you have a great day!

Bella with Sledge

Hi all,

Its Lyndsey here and I am here with my last post as a guest designer here on the Stamp Basket Blog.

I promised Janet that one of my creations would be a christmas card and today I have an adorable card using the lovely Bella with Sledge from Wild Rose Studio.

I decided to make a pretty girly christmas card and teamed the image with some fabby Nitwit papers, added a lovely Memory Box die, some gorgeous lace & vintage ribbon and a few pearls which I coloured with my promarkers to match to finish.

All items that are available from The Stamp Basket

Thanks for joining me over the past 6 weeks, hope you have enjoyed my creations.

Bella with Sledge and Clouds Background Tutorial

Hi everyone, it's Annette here today to share a card using a sweet Wild Rose image from The Stamp Basket.   I've not used these Bella stamps before they're just adorable.

The image is quite large so I've not adorned this card with my usual die cuts and embellishments, just few flowers and a gorgeous aqua satin ribbon bow.

Aqua is my favourite Christmas colour this year.  I absolutely adore these Nitwits Joyful Hearts papers but it feels a real shame to cover them up !

The clouds in the background are done with my chalks using a cloud template that I've created myself (see below) and a similar technique to the fab background tutorial posted by my fellow Stamp Basket designer Penni last week (see Penni's tutorial here) where she shows you how to mask your image first too (which is the bit that I shortcut, cos I'm lazy!)

I've included my template below in case you want to download it.  Please do leave me a comment too to let me know how you get on using it too.

Click on the template to see it in its original size, save it down to your computer and then print it out on card or acetate.  Cut out the cloud shape and then use it as a mask.

I use shimmer chalks to colour my clouds (yup, you can see the one I use the most for my clouds!) but you can use inks too.

Before I start applying my chalks, I outline my image with B000, a really pale blue which makes the image pop off the page a bit:

I then lay my cloud template over my image, starting at the top, and just cover the top of the image with my template:

I apply my first row of clouds across the full width of the image panel. I use the little pompoms and work in a circular motion to apply the shimmer chalk:

I apply about 3 to 4 rows working down each side of the image right down to the 'ground'.  To create a random effect with my clouds, I offset the template as I apply each row.

All items are from The Stamp Basket as follows:

Happy crafting
