I have a card to show you today using one of the new
Memory Box Whisper Print stamps. There are four stamps in the series and this
one is called 'geranium'.
I love experimenting with stamps and this 'play' took me back years to when I first started stamping. First, I coloured the stamp with Marvey Le Plume pens
(you can also use inks and paints in the same way) blending two different shades on both the petals and stalk. I then spritzed the stamp
with water…I love this bit because varying the amount of water used gives different effects…so don’t be
afraid to experiment (the first stamped images underneath the petals are nicely puddled!). I then pressed three images directly onto my card and
left to dry (you could use a heat gun if you get impatient!). I repeated the process on a separate piece of card, this time just
colouring the petals of the flower. When dry, I cut out the petals and decoupaged
the flower heads. I was watching a fourth set Murray match when I stamped the second set of images so my eye was more on the ball than the stamping and I didn't quite do enough spritzing for the effect I wanted!
This is such a quick and easy technique to do and produces some lovely effects…so go create!
