Tilly With Gift

With Valentine's Day later this week, I've got a bit of a love theme happening today, with sweet Tilly the puppy from Wild Rose Studio. The whole card was inspired by the papers and I tried to match the colours used on my image to the papers.

I'm really liking the double bow effect at the moment, and seem to do it on every bow now!  I got myself a little bow maker about a month ago, and love that I can now do double bows with it.  It works really well with this vintage style ribbon as the knot isn't too thick.  On the thicker satin ribbons I usually use a pearl brad to hold the bow onto the card, but it's not needed here.

Bella with Wand

It's Annette here today with my final Stamp Basket card for 2012.  This time it's Bella with Wand using some gorgeous Nitwit papers in dark aqua and purples.  These are not specifically Christmassy papers, but I think the rich colours look fab, and I've coloured the image to match.

Purple Tilly

I've got another card to share today on behalf of The Stamp Basket.  This one's less of a traditional Christmas colour card, but I think it is sometimes nice to be different!

I love the sweet snowflake embossing folder and the gorgeous corner dies.  I'm also in love with this small bistro label die.  It's a great size.

Dandelion Girl

Hello all on this very overcast and muggy day...I have a card to show you that I made many weeks ago...when the weather was, dare I say, fabulous! I've used a lovely Whimsy image called 'Dandelion Girl'...she's such a cutie, isn't she? Takes me back to my childhood when I, too, blew the dandelion clocks...and someone else did the weeding! The sentiment is one of my current favourites from the Whimsy 'Ticket Notes' set.

The papers are from the fabulous Prima Fairy Belle pad with co-ordinating wooden button on ivory crotchet lace. All details below - linked products available at The Stamp Basket.

Hi all,
The sun is shining and the weekend is nearly here! I have a card to show you today using an image from Stampavie called 'A Little Bit of Country'...it's the sort of image that makes my heart sing!

For the sentiment, I've chosen one from the lovely Whimsy Ticket Note stamp set...such lovely words on this set and a great way to send a little message to a friend or relative! We have finally managed to get hold of the Whimsy Ticket dies to use with this stamp set...harder to source than Hen's teeth, believe me...and I'm very pleased to say, we now have a good supply in stock!

My papers are from the lovely Prima Fairy Belle pad with co-ordinating Prima Essential Fairy Belle Petals and Fairy Belle wooden button (these are gorgeous..lots of different shapes: hearts, stars, circles, all in muted tones!). All other embellies are listed below.

Whisper Geranium

Hi all,
I have a card to show you today using one of the new Memory Box Whisper Print stamps. There are four stamps in the series and this one is called 'geranium'.

I love experimenting with stamps and this 'play' took me back years to when I first started stamping. First, I coloured the stamp with Marvey Le Plume pens (you can also use inks and paints in the same way) blending two different shades on both the petals and stalk. I then spritzed the stamp with water…I love this bit because varying the amount of water used gives different effects…so don’t be afraid to experiment (the first stamped images underneath the petals are nicely puddled!). I then pressed three images directly onto my card and left to dry (you could use a heat gun if you get impatient!). I repeated the process on a separate piece of card, this time just colouring the petals of the flower. When dry, I cut out the petals and decoupaged the flower heads. I was watching a fourth set Murray match when I stamped the second set of images so my eye was more on the ball than the stamping and I didn't quite do enough spritzing for the effect I wanted!

This is such a quick and easy technique to do and produces some lovely effects…so go create!

Gardening Fun

Hi,
I hope you are having a good weekend! I have a card to show you today that has been made to wish fathers everywhere a Happy Father’s Day! The image, which is currently in the sale at The Stamp Basket online store, is from Stampavie and is called ‘Gardening Fun’....designer Penny Johnson certainly makes it look fun with all the little helpers on board!

The sentiment on the tag is from the Tina Wenke ‘With love’ stamp set – I just love this set – it’s so versatile, with sentiments suitable for all occasions...and it's also, on special offer at the moment at The Stamp Basket!

The gorgeous background papers are from the Prima ‘Nature Garden’ pad…just so apt for the image! This really is a beautiful pad of paper whether ‘dressed up’ or ‘dressed down’, and can be used to enhance a project or stand alone to speak for themselves as in some of the cards that Kerry‘s made recently. The good news is, this pad, along with a range of other gorgeous Prima pads, is also in the sale over at The Stamp Basket...so if you've not already done so, why not pop over and take a look...there are lots of bargains to be had!

Now to my dies...I’ve used a range of dies on this card…the Whimsy Corner die set; Memory Box Macarena Corner and Memory Box Nestled Bird cut from the background papers…this is such a sweet, subtle little die which I think adds a lovely detail to outdoor style projects!

The following items are available at The Stamp Basket online store:
Stamps: Stampavie ‘Gardening Fun’; ‘With Love’

Well, that's all from me for today...thanks for stopping by and I do hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
