Bluebell with Hedgehog

After some procrastination on layout, (which probably ended up with me reverting back to the first option I tried), I was actually quite pleased with this card.  I think I'm getting into the softer, rather than bold, colours and the papers were the inspiration for the colours in the image.  I left the die cuts white to keep the embellishments pale, and added ivory pearls.  Oh, and a smidge of glossy accents.

Sun Kissed

I'm well and truly in pink mode today, with an Elizabeth Bell image called Sun Kissed.  The pretty papers are from Wild Rose Studio and I've used some vintage style ribbon and rustic red twine.  The die is one of my long-time favourites from Memory Box, called Whimsical Flourish.

Mimosa Waiting for Santa

Hi all,
I’m here today instead of Debs and I have a card to show you using one of the lovely Bildmalarna Christmas images called ‘Mimosa Waiting for Santa’...poor little Mimosa, she has a very long wait, hasn't she! But it's always good to get ahead with your Christmas cards and this year I'm determined not to be caught out again!

I do think these Bildmalarna images are so adorable… such cute innocent little faces that make your heart melt…and the good news is that this stamp is in our Spring sale! As is the Whimsy 'Christmas Sayings' Sentiment...
I’ve used a combination of papers on this card…and not all of them are Christmas papers! So which papers have I used…any guesses???

Recipe:
Stamps: Bildmalarna ‘Mimosa Waiting for Santa’; Whimsy 'Christmas Sayings' (sentiment)
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hugs,

Janet xx

Sporty Bear

I'm still in C&S mode, but today it's almost out of necessity because I've made a (kind of) masculine card featuring Stampavie's Sporty image of a cute footie bear.  It's also nice and flat for posting!  Although it's a sporty theme, I think the papers are still really pretty, even though I've steered clear of florals! :0)

Rosie Rabbit Gift

I was looking for papers to use for this image, and found two in my stash that were so alike it was uncanny.  The main paper on the base card is larger pink dots on red paper (Wild Rose Studio Bella's Birthday Paper pink dots), and the strip across the middle, with the lace and twine, is Nitwit Joyful Hearts Pink Dots paper.  I thought they complemented each other quite well, although in theory the Nitwit one is actually from a Christmas set.

I've used a bit of white lace, but otherwise, all the embellishments are red.  To be honest, with the red and green colour theme, it could probably have been a Christmas card, if it weren't for the sentiment.  But this one's a birthday card for a friend who's birthday is in a few weeks.  Hope she likes it! :0)

Annabelle Hanging Gifts

I've got a traditional coloured Christmas card to share today featuring Annabelle from Wild Rose Studio. I've used some non-festive backing papers, but I think the colours are the perfect green for Christmas.  I've edged the card with some green ink and distressed the image panel a bit.

Annabelle and Tree

We're still celebrating "Christmas in August" at The Stamp Basket and I've got another Annabelle image today, but this time I've sneaked in some traditional red, compared to last week's frosty theme.

The sentiment is a Whimsy Notables stamp cut out with a matching Whimsy Notables die.  It's kind of a vintage image, so I've used vintage style ribbon rather than my usual sleek satin.  The papers are quite contemporary in contrast, but the colours all match to hold the card together.

Bella with Daisy

It's Annette with you today, and boy oh boy, I'm so glad it's the weekend, although I'm doing a 15 mile sponsored night-walk tonight in aid of our local hospice!!   It starts at 7pm and I suspect I'll not get to bed until the early hours!!!  Zzzzzzzz   Wish me luck!!

My card for The Stamp Basket today features the cute 'heffalump', Bella with Daisy.  I've used some patriotic Wild Rose Studio Union Jack papers, and opted for a red, white and blue colour scheme.  I even coloured the shadow blue, but now I think it rather looks like Bella's stood in a puddle!

Don't forget the Stamp Basket sale is still on, so pop over to the store to stock up before the sale finishes on Monday.

Teddy with Present

Hello everyone.  It's Annette with you today sharing a card which features a Wild Rose Studio image aptly named Teddy with Present.   It's such a versatile image, and would be suitable for Mother's day or a 'just for you' card, but today he's bringing birthday wishes.  I'm loving this fence die at the moment. The fence is cut in kraft card, and then I've run streaks of various browns to create a wood grain effect.

Bunny With Cake

Wow, it's Sunday already, and it's Annette with another card to share showcasing items from The Stamp Basket.  This one is Bunny with Cake and it looks to me like he needs a hand with that piece of cake, and I'm just the person to give him some help!!! LOL.  This is quite a versatile image, he could be used for a birthday, but I've added an Easter sentiment which I think is also suitable.

Teddy with Present

It's Annette back here today with a card which features a new Wild Rose Studio image from The Stamp Basket called Teddy with Present.  He would make a lovely Mother's day image, but today I've used him for a birthday card theme.

I've used some gorgeous papers called Lace Butterflies from Crafty Impressions which are pink and aqua coloured, so I'm in seventh heaven with this set!  I'm also using a new Memory Box Norrland flower die for the first time and I'm really liking it.  The petals were cut in white card, then I chalked up the centres with pink shimmer chalk and curled the petals around my paint brush handle to give them some dimension.  To finish them off I popped a coloured pearl in the middle.

The other die cuts were also cut in white card and then coloured with a pink Copic to match my colour scheme.  The pearls were easy to colour too, because they are on a clear plastic sheet so they don't move around when you colour them to match your theme.  It's a great way to buy your pearls as then you can colour them any shade you like depending on the colours you're using on each project.

You Like My Star

It's Annette here again today with a card using a sweet image from The Stamp Basket called You Like My Star.  I've moved away from the traditional Christmas colours and back onto the contemporary colours for a while (it seems to go in phases!).

I've used some pretty new dies too.  This flourish is lovely, but the new star festoon banner is really lovely, and I've coloured the edges of the stars a little bit so it gives them some definition.  A few pearls, a ribbon & pearl brad and a few flowers, and voilà !!!

Maya and Kitty Sledging

It's Annette here today and I've got some gorgeous new cutie-pies to share with you today from the The Stamp Basket.  This is one of the new Whiff of Joy images called Maya and Kitty Sledging.  I've got a couple of these to show you over the next couple of weeks, (but I would secretly urge you to pop back here tomorrow as I think it's my favourite of the lot - so far at least!).

Anyhoo, this is just a quick post as I'm running late today.  I usually get my posts written the night before, but I didn't manage last night.  I was trying to write out all my overseas cards as I think I should probably have posted them already by now, so I wanted to get them posted today.  I hope I'm not too late!

Hope you like my card. Have a fab Saturday and I'll see you all tomorrow for some more Whiff of Joy cuteness.

Joy, Peace and Love

Hi all,
I have a criss cross card to show you today using an image from one of the new Wild Rose Studio Christmas Collection called ‘Annabelle and Tree’.

If you’ve never made a Criss cross card, they are really so easy to make and there are lots of tutorials on the web to show you how to go about it.

I’ve used two of the square straight edged Craftwork Cards stuck together with opposing sides cut to make the triangle effect. The papers that I used are a combination of Nitwits ‘Joyful Hearts Holly’ (for the front) and Papermania ‘At Christmas Time’ (for the inside), both of which were matted onto Bazzill Cardinal – you only need a small square of each.

Here’s a close up of the image which has been blinged with glamour dust and stickles!

I've used two sentiments on the card - on the front I've used one from the new Whimsy Holiday Notables 2 cut with the Whimsy Notables 2 die – these sentiments are just right for small spaces and the set (comprising 17 stamps in all) have a range of lovely words, suitable for all Christmas cards. The die is the gorgeous Memory Box Whimsical Flourish – I think this has been one of my favourite of all the Memory Box Christmas dies this year!
I've also used the sentiment from the Wild Rose Studio 'Christmas Tree' stamp set in the inside panel. The tabs have been made using the Memory Box Bistro Label...such a versatile little die!

                                      Card Recipe:

Don’t forget our weekend offer on Nellie Snellen and Marianne Design stamps, dies and papers...some great bargains!

I hope you have a lovely weekend, whatever your plans!

Big hugs,

Janet xx

Christmas Teddies

It's Annette here with today's card using a sweet image from Wild Rose Studio called Christmas Teddies.  These little bears are adorable and I've coloured them white, like polar bears in the snow, but they could be brown teddy bears too.

I'm also loving these Memory box scroll dies too, this one is just gorgeous in red, as is the huge poinsettia which I've dotted with a bit of liquid pearls and given a bit of accent with my copics just marking the seams of the leaves and petals.

Happy Christmas

Hello its Edna (aka Rosietoes) here today. It is my pleasure to be posting my first GDT card for the Stamp Basket today.
I was delighted to be asked and when Janet sent me the kit to work with, I was even more delighted. :)

I've used a Bildmalarna stamp - Little Winged Friends - 'Scarf' for my main image
Memory Box - Frostyville WreathWhimsical flourish dies
Burlap twine - natural
Button - from Christmas mix

.
The image is coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens

She is such a wee cutie and my very first Bildmalarna image - I can see me weakening and adding to that very soon.

Thank you for calling in today.

Nativity Play

Hi everyone.  It's Annette here today to share a card using a sweet image from The Stamp Basket.

Yes, it is another Christmas card.  But it is nearly November, so Christmas is only 8 weeks away.  (Considering I was making Christmas cards in January, I'm not entirely sure that excuse works, but I'm sticking to it!)

This new flourish die is just amazing.   I LOVE IT.   I loved the corner bow but this one is fantastic too.

These Kaisercraft papers are also adorable. My favourite so far is the one I've used on the top half.  It's so romantic and pretty.
