Mouse on Presents

I have been meaning to make a criss-cross card for a while, so decided today was the day!  I've kept the embellishments quite minimalistic as the papers were quite detailed and I didn't want to hide the criss-cross design either.  The gorgeous rich red burgundy satin bow seemed to match the dusky pinks in the image so I've kept the die cuts white so they didn't overshadow the image.

Also don't forget there is still a Spring sale on at The Stamp Basket at the moment, so grab some crafting bargains while the discounts are on. New items have been added recently too.

Bluebell with Hedgehog

After some procrastination on layout, (which probably ended up with me reverting back to the first option I tried), I was actually quite pleased with this card.  I think I'm getting into the softer, rather than bold, colours and the papers were the inspiration for the colours in the image.  I left the die cuts white to keep the embellishments pale, and added ivory pearls.  Oh, and a smidge of glossy accents.

Mariella

Morning everyone,
I have a card to show today that doubles up as both a Mother’s Day card and a birthday card.

I’ve used the delightful image by Crafter’s Companion called ‘Mariella’ which I‘ve teamed with pretty Wild Rose Studio ‘Flights of Fancy’ papers.

The lettering of ‘Mum’ has been stamped using Papermania ‘Vintage Notes - Sentiments’. Both of these stamps and the papers are currently available in our Spring sale!
The image has been coloured with copics

I’ve used two of the new dies from the new Wild Rose Studio Spring Woodland Collection for this card: the gorgeous ‘Leafy Branch’ and the ‘Corner Flourish’ – in fact, two corner flourishes which I’ve joined together!

The flower and leaves have been made using the Memory Box Norrland Flower and Fabulous Flox.
Both have been coloured with copics.

The single large butterfly is a Memory Box 'Vivienne Butterfly' die-cut and the 'Butterfly Border' is by Joy Crafts!

Bunny With Cake

Today's card is cherry and chocolate themed, both in terms of colour and image.  The papers are some of my favourites from Wild Rose Studio called Vintage Rose, and the image is also Wild Rose Studio.

The ribbon is actually recycled from a box of chocolates that my MIL gave me when she visited in the summer.  I'm afraid to say that the chocolates didn't last very long, but I did keep the ribbon for some crafting!

Cherry Blossom Baggie

Hello everyone, it's Annette here again today, but because I've still not been feeling 100% lately (still recovering from that nasty flu bug that's been going around), I've not managed to get a card made for today.  However, I do have another little project to share with you.

The Stamp Basket stocks the gorgeous Saturated Canary rubber stamps and I've been playing with one of my favourites from the new release which is Cherry Blossom.  I've stamped it onto a cotton baggie and coloured it with mainly purple marker pens. I added some sparkly accent with Sakura Stardust gel pens, and then decorated it with matching purple embellishments.

Colouring on the cotton is really difficult as the ink spreads out over the fibres, but I don't think she's turned out too bad.

Hopefully you will agree....

I've sewn ribbon around the top edge, added a crocheted flower with a button centre, a couple of die cuts and some liquid pearls.

Here's a close up of the image. You'll see the ink did run quite a lot, but it has still made a pretty little gift bag.

All items are from The Stamp Basket as follows:
Pop over to The Stamp Basket to see the lovely array of products on offer.

Happy crafting and have a great week.

Whisper Geranium

Hi all,
I have a card to show you today using one of the new Memory Box Whisper Print stamps. There are four stamps in the series and this one is called 'geranium'.

I love experimenting with stamps and this 'play' took me back years to when I first started stamping. First, I coloured the stamp with Marvey Le Plume pens (you can also use inks and paints in the same way) blending two different shades on both the petals and stalk. I then spritzed the stamp with water…I love this bit because varying the amount of water used gives different effects…so don’t be afraid to experiment (the first stamped images underneath the petals are nicely puddled!). I then pressed three images directly onto my card and left to dry (you could use a heat gun if you get impatient!). I repeated the process on a separate piece of card, this time just colouring the petals of the flower. When dry, I cut out the petals and decoupaged the flower heads. I was watching a fourth set Murray match when I stamped the second set of images so my eye was more on the ball than the stamping and I didn't quite do enough spritzing for the effect I wanted!

This is such a quick and easy technique to do and produces some lovely effects…so go create!
