Bella with Daisy

Hi all,
I hope you are keeping well and warm…how the mornings have changed with the Autumn mists! I’m still in my cornflour blue phase here at The Stamp Basket Headquarters…and still not a Christmas card in sight!

Today I have another very simple ‘thank you’ card to show you using a really cute stamp from Wild Rose Studio called ‘Bella with Daisy’….although I’ve just realised my daisy has been coloured purple  to match the backing papers! Oh well, I’m sure a bit of artistic license will be fine!

I’ve teamed Bella with paper from the WRS ‘Bella Birthday’ paper pack and used a small piece of Bazzill ‘Classic Purple’ card to lift the image.

Feeding robins

Hello my lovelies, so happy to see you...
I have a Christmas card to share today, this time in shades of blue & turquoise to ring the changes.

This lovely stamp is called "Feeding robins" from Wild Rose Studios, and I have coloured it with my markers... then dotted with liquid pearls, and glittered. I have added lots more dots of pearls to the die cut tree, and I have used a touch of distress ink to give it an aged appearance.

The recipe is as follows:
Card blank: Craftwork Cards
Papers: Magnolia Vintage Turquoise & Cloudy Hearts
Stamp: Wild Rose Feeding Robins
Die cuts : La La Land Christmas Tree
Embellishments: Glamour Dust Crystal & Pearls

I hope this has inspired to get creative with your Christmas cards...
Happy Crafting!

Biggles

I've got another masculine card to share with you today, and it's another one using an aeronautical theme!

I've again cut out a square insert from the main backing papers, layered them on plain coloured card, and replaced them in the same place so the patterns match again, but with an insert panel.  It gives a bit of variation in the background without too much fuss, so I think it's quite good for a masculine card.

Chocks Away

My card today is meant to be a masculine Christmas card, so hopefully I've managed to get as close to masculine as possible (for me!).

No pink in sight!

Although the image is quite generic, the papers are definitely festive and I added a winter tree for good measure.

Bella with Flowers

Hi all,
Still no Christmas card from me today! Instead I’ve made a thank you card using the gorgeous Wild Rose Studio ‘Bella with Flowers’. The WRS stamp collections are such good value for money – the stamps are good quality and the designs are just so versatile - you can use them again and again for different occasions: birthdays, ‘thank you’ cards and ‘thinking of you’ cards, as well as just to send a note to someone!

Today, I’ve teamed Bella with paper from the WRS ‘Bella’ paper pack…the pinks and cornflowers blues make this an ideal palette for all occasion cards.
Now, I have to admit to having a bit of a disaster with this image…I got a bit distracted, managed to overfill my copic pens and ended up with no less than three big slodges on the image…but the tip when this happens is not to panic!  I used kitchen roll to soak up the ink and then used the copic blender to slowly remove each splodge. It took quite a while of using the blender, drying the image and then going back in with the blender (I lost count of the number of times I needed to do this)…but I think it worked quite well, particularly given what it looked like at the start! So if this happens to you, always give it a go before resorting to binning your image, you may surprise yourself!

Shop til you Drop

Today's project is a birthday calendar rather than a card.

I've created a A-frame base in thick purple card, and designed a calendar page on my computer for each month of the year.  I've stamped mini images around the edge of the calendar to decorate it, and bound the top to my A-frame.

The pages flip over and you can enter the dates to remember on each page so you don't forget a birthday!

The image, featuring birthday presents, is Little Darlings Shop til you Drop from The Stamp Basket.

Waiting for Santa

It's another Christmas card from me today (hubby already thinks we've got Christmas cards coming out of our ears), and I've kept the design really simple.

I've returned to my (current) favourite Christmas pad, First Edition's Silent Night, and a die that I'm really loving at the moment too, Cottage Cutz Holly Border.  I finished my card off with a few pearls, and an array of white flowers, stamens and pearl strings.

The image is matted onto silver mirri card, but it actually looks black in the photo as it's hard to get a good photo of the mirri card.  :0(

Retirement Card

I've got a bit of a different card today, as it has a sentiment rather than an image as the focal point.

When I received these gorgeous papers, I couldn't bear to cover them up, so I decided to make a C&S design which showcased the papers more than anything else.

The card was requested by my hubby for his boss who is retiring in a few months, and the only requirement was to include some Swarovoski crystals, and preferably not feature a bear image (hmmm, I can't think why he'd feel the need to say that!!)

Anyway, here's what I came up with;  a shaped card base, with floral papers.   I cut out a central square in the papers, matted the panel onto contrasting paper from the same pad, and edged it with Stardust gel pen before wrapping it with strands of red twine and sticking it back down in place so that the flowers still match the base card positions.

I then typed a sentiment in an elegant font, die cut it out and stamped flowers and leaves around the edge.  I layered that onto the same plain backing paper and used 3d foam pads to place it over the twine.  I then tied a bow in some more twine, threaded on a bead and a crystal onto each strand, and tied a knot at the end to stop them falling off.
