Saturday Afternoon at The Stamp Basket

Hello and welcome to The Stamp Basket blog! It's Janet here for the first of our 'Saturday Afternoon at The Stamp Basket' blogspots! It's been such a lovely sunny day here today and the countryside is so beautiful at the moment with all the richness of autumn - perfect inspiration for card making!

Today's card is called 'Finn whistling while he works' - I do so adore these Sarah Kay images from Stampavie and they are so easy to colour too! Isn’t Finn just the cutest?!

The gorgeous paper is My Minds Eye ‘A Beautiful Life’ - I just love the combo of the rich plums and petrol blues in this pad. The card is from a Craftwork Cards scalloped edge pack that we have in store at The Stamp Basket - these cards really come in handy when you're short on time! The sentiment, which is computer generated, is embellished with Berisfords 5mm brown gingham ribbon and May Arts natural button twine - this is a really inexpensive but effective way to enhance a birthday card for a man! Now as strange as it may seem, the grooved buttons are from the Summer Button Mix but I think they team perfectly with the petrol blue of these papers!

Here's a closer look at Finn whistling while he works, coloured with copic pens.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you enjoy the rest of your Saturday!

Hugs,
Janet  xx
